The Cabell Midland Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cabell Midland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
Last Monday, Cabell Midland came up short against Bullitt East and fell 49-38. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Blackburn, who posted 13 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Ray, who earned eight points.
Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson strolled past Capital with points to spare last Tuesday, taking the game 68-49.
Woodrow Wilson's win came from a few key players Cabell Midland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaylon Walton, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Coby Dillon, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Woodrow Wilson was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Woodrow Wilson pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Cabell Midland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Cabell Midland and Woodrow Wilson are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Cabell Midland hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.9 points per game. However, it's not like Woodrow Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
