Baseball Recap: Harvester Christian Academy Takes a Loss

The Harvester Christian Academy Hawks didn't have quite enough to beat the Hearts Academy Panthers on Tuesday and fell 16-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Hawks still had to take the loss.

Greg Stoeckig was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Aubrey Young was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lleyton Tsai, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Harvester Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Hearts Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

While Harvester Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
