The Wewoka Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Prague Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wewoka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday.
Wewoka has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 72-54 fall against Dale. While losing is never fun, Wewoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Dale is ranked second).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Timber Carter, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Awtumn Sipes-Louie was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Prague scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They blew past Meeker 65-37 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Prague has managed all season.
Wewoka's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Prague, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.
Everything came up roses for Wewoka against Prague in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 55-25 win. Will Wewoka repeat their success, or does Prague have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
