The Eaton Reds and the Rifle Bears squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Eaton Reds had to settle for second. Eaton fell 24-15 to Rifle. Eaton's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Logan Gross, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 195 yards and a touchdown. Gross hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Isaac Valencia also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.
Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Rifle, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Eaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rifle will face off against Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Delta is ranked 30th, while Rifle is ranked 36th).
