Lakeside has gone a perfect 10-0 against Medical Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. Lakeside has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeside came up short against Colville on Wednesday, falling 19-5. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Medical Lake fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Riverside on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 13-12.

Isabel Barry put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over 7.1 innings while giving up four earned (and nine unearned) runs off 12 hits. Barry was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Madi Jonckers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mary Plute, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Medical Lake's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lakeside, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything went Lakeside's way against Medical Lake in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Lakeside made off with a 9-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
