The Boone Grove Wolves will be home for the holidays to greet the Tri-Township Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Boone Grove: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Tri-Township has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Boone Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-44 to Westville. While losing is never fun, Boone Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Westville is ranked 138th).
Boone Grove's loss came about despite a quality game from Drew Jeffries, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Jeffries scored a full 50% of Boone Grove's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emily Veschak, who scored eight points along with six assists.
Tri-Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 54-24 victory over North White on the road. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Tri-Township did.
JAYDE PRYOR continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Addie Gorski was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Boone Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Tri-Township, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
