Lindale will take on Canton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lindale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
While Lindale's victory against Athens wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Hornets 4-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Emma Hoover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makynli Zemer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
Canton came out on top against Mabank on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rylee Busby was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Lily Cervantes was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Addy Henderson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Canton lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Lindale's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Canton, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lindale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .437. However, it's not like Canton struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lindale couldn't quite get it done against Canton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 12-8. Can Lindale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
