They took their match on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 60-32 win over Many Farms. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-12.
St. Johns was led to victory by Ellie Heap and Kayme Smith. Heap scored 13 points along with six rebounds, while Smith scored 14 points along with four steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Josie Overson was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
St. Johns' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. As for Many Farms, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Johns will take on Round Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Round Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while St. Johns is ranked 23rd). As for Many Farms, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
