There's no place like home for the Valmeyer Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past Maryville Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-30. Valmeyer pushed the score to 39-17 by the end of the third, a deficit Maryville Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
Brooke Miller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierstin Miller, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and five assists.
Valmeyer's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Maryville Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.
Valmeyer won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Red Bud at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Red Bud will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Valmeyer surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maryville Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Metro-East Lutheran at 1:00 p.m.
