In what's become a running theme this season, the Willow Canyon Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-42 victory over Ironwood at home. Winning may never get old, but Willow Canyon sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Willow Canyon found their leader in underclassman Sarah Karnitz, who went 11 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Karnitz has scored all season. Keke Helman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Willow Canyon pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Ironwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Willow Canyon and the Coyotes will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Centennial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. Ironwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
