The Sports Leadership & Management Giants pushed their score all the way to 68 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 83-68 fall against Highlands Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Wednesday (64), Sports Leadership & Management still had to take the loss.
Sports Leadership & Management's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Plewinski, who scored 31 points along with four steals and four blocks, and Dennis Pierre who scored 22 points along with six assists and four steals. Pierre has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Ivy, who scored four points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sports Leadership & Management were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Sports Leadership & Management and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Highlands Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.
Sports Leadership & Management will head out on the road to take on Village Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Village Academy is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Highlands Christian will take on Donna Klein Jewish Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
