St. Edmund is 0-7 against Opelousas Catholic since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays will be playing at home against the Opelousas Catholic Vikings at 7:00 p.m. St. Edmund will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Last Thursday, St. Edmund earned a 26-13 win over Westminster Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Edmund to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ke'von Johnson, who rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown. Johnson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Henry Summerlin, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Opelousas Catholic put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Sacred Heart on the road to the tune of 52-21. The victory was familiar territory for Opelousas Catholic who now have five in a row.
Their wins bumped St. Edmund to 7-2 and Opelousas Catholic to 6-3.
St. Edmund was dealt a bruising 52-20 defeat at the hands of Opelousas Catholic when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will St. Edmund have more luck at home instead of on the road?
