Basketball Recap: Kingstree Skates Past Hemingway with Ease

Kingstree put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hemingway Tigers 74-6. Fans of the Blazers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingstree to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naydia Shaw, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Shaw's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Nyla Wallace was another key player, going 8 for 17 on her way to 18 points and eight steals.

Kingstree pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points per game. As for Hemingway, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Kingstree won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Johnsonville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingstree's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Johnsonville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
