The Clayton Bears suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 79-48 loss at the hands of Winter. Clayton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Winter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Gunnar Greuel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Winter, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 24 rebounds. Greuel is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Curtis Thompson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
Clayton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Winter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6.
Clayton will take on Prairie Farm at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Prairie Farm and three for Clayton. As for Winter, they will head out on the road to square off against Bruce at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
