Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakewood Ranch). They came out on top against the Braden River Pirates by a score of 78-67 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Braden River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anquan Polynice went 10 for 18 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Polynice has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Deven Womack, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Lakewood Ranch's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Braden River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Lakewood Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-40 loss against Cardinal Mooney on the 11th. As for Braden River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-49 defeat against Manatee on the 12th.
