The Appoquinimink Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Mount Pleasant Green Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Appoquinimink has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 272 points over their last four contests.
Last Saturday, Appoquinimink faced Caravel in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Appoquinimink took down Caravel 77-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-31 win over St. Georges Tech.
Appoquinimink now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mount Pleasant, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Everything went Appoquinimink's way against Mount Pleasant in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Appoquinimink made off with a 68-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Appoquinimink since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
