There's no place like home for Simon Kenton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Grant County Braves a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Ruete was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Logan Judd was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jacob Piper was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Simon Kenton's win bumped their record up to 14-8-3. As for Grant County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simon Kenton will challenge Williamstown at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grant County, they will take on Frankfort at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
