Softball Recap: Central Kitsap Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Central Kitsap came out on top against Lincoln on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Cougars never let the Abes get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Cougars have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Savvy Paulson and Coral Howell made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Paulson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Howell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. At the plate, Paulson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Howell went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Scarlett Mabe was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Hinze, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Central Kitsap is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12.

Central Kitsap does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, they will head out to challenge North Thurston at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
