After losing to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles the last time they met, the Salem Hills Skyhawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Salem Hills managed a 55-50 victory over Maple Mountain on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Salem Hills.
Madi King went supernova for Salem Hills, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hattie Parkinson, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Maple Mountain still got an impressive performance from Jaynee Tanner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Tanner is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Shay Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Salem Hills' win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Maple Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Spanish Fork the next time they take the court. Maple Mountain will host Spanish Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Salem Hills will host them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
