op 10 quarterbacks in the Class of 2023 last week, MaxPreps now looks at the running backs. Florida has bragging rights as the Sunshine State takes up half the field, including the top-rated running back in five-star Richard Young of Lehigh (Lehigh Acres).
Joining Young are Cedric Baxter Jr. of Edgewater (Orlando), Samuel Singleton of Fleming Island (Orange Park), Treyaun Webb of Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville) and Mark Fletcher of American Heritage (Plantation).
Last season's MaxPreps Junior Football Player of the Year —
Reuben Owens II of El Campo (Texas) — checks in as the second-rated running back on the list and rushed for nearly 3,000 yards and 46 scores in 2021. He's one of the two running backs from the Lone Star featured along with Tre Wisner of Connally (Waco).
Georgia, Kansas and Louisiana round out the list with one player featured each and all 10 running backs are still uncommitted.
