The Christian County Colonels waltzed into their contest on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They breezed by Trigg County at home to the tune of 72-23. Christian County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.
Christian County can attribute much of their success to NeVaeh Day, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lazarie Daniel, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Christian County's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Trigg County, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
Christian County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-44 win vs. Webster County on the 10th. Trigg County will head out on the road to square off against Graves County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Graves Countypresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trigg County in Kentucky (Graves County is ranked 70th, while Trigg County is ranked 248th).
