Basketball Recap: Lincoln Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Lincoln won the last time they faced Center, and Jacob Butler did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lincoln Fighting Zebras took down the Center Cougars 81-66 on Friday with plenty of help from Butler, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Triton Cox, who on his way to 15 points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played.

Despite the defeat, Center had strong showings from Andy McLear, who posted 28 points, and Tima Makovey, who scored 18 points. That was a full 42.4% of Center's points, marking the fourth time in a row McLear has had more than a third of the team's points.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games. Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-75 loss against Fairfield on the 19th. Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
