Bandera is 3-0 against Navarro since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bandera BULLDOGS will head out on the road to challenge the Navarro Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Bandera is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Even though Bandera has not done well against Wimberley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bandera enjoyed a cozy 62-47 win over Wimberley. The win was just what Bandera needed coming off of a 58-34 loss in their prior game.
Bandera's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Salas, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Isaac Segura was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Navarro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Davenport on the road and fell 92-40. While losing is never fun, Navarro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1178th, while Davenport is ranked 435th).
Bandera's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Navarro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bandera against Navarro in their previous meeting on January 2nd as the team secured a 80-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bandera since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
