After a string of eight wins, The Clyde Bulldogs''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Iowa Park. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Clyde came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Iowa Park is ranked 536th).
Despite the loss, Clyde still got an impressive performance from Blake Carr, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 101 yards and a touchdown. Carr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Parker Allen, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Clyde's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Iowa Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Clyde will be playing in front of their home fans against Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Iowa Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Jim Ned at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jim Ned will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
