Basketball Recap: Macarthur Skates Past South San Antonio with Ease

MacArthur entered their tilt with South San Antonio on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 61-28 win over the South San Antonio Bobcats. The Brahmas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Ellie Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Zarb-Cousin, who posted nine points and five boards.

Despite the defeat, South San Antonio had strong showings from Jewel Alvarez, who had nine points in addition to six steals and six blocks, and Isaia Hinds, who scored eight points and four steals. Alvarez is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last three games she's played.

MacArthur is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for South San Antonio, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-16.

MacArthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South San Antonio has also already played their next game, a 59-55 victory against Harlandale on the 4th.
