After a string of six wins, Tri-Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normal University Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2018.

Kinley Morris paced Tri-Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Morris were helped by Lauren Louck and Lea Filarski, who contributed six assists each. Filarski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Normal University, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Tri-Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Armstrong on the 4th. As for Normal University, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mattoon on the 4th.
