The Greeneview Rams will head out to square off against the Clinton-Massie Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Greeneview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
While Greeneview's victory against Catholic Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Irish 2-0. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on three straight.
Greeneview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trent Webb, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton-Massie). They put the hurt on New Richmond with a sharp 15-7 victory on Monday. The Falcons not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 19, 2025 (when they won 12-0).
The team relied heavily on Corey Frisch, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Colton Fite, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Clinton-Massie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Richmond only posted an OBP of .343.
Clinton-Massie's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Greeneview, their record now sits at 9-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greeneview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Clinton-Massie struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greeneview beat Clinton-Massie 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
