Volleyball Recap: Dunlap's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Dunlap unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Morton Potters by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Potters earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Dunlap started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 25-13.

Rebecca Lopez paced Dunlap's offense, picking up ten kills. Lopez got some help from Caroline Holmes and her 11 assists. Finally, Sam Matheny kept Dunlap's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Dunlap's defeat dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Morton, they pushed their record up to 29-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dunlap will challenge rival Metamora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Morton is set to face off against their familiar foe Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
