The Vardaman Rams fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Houlka 44-30 on Tuesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Vardaman has managed all season.
Defeat or not, Houlka got some senior leadership from Destiny Foster who scored nine points and Olivia Halford who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Halford scored a full 50% of Houlka's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Vardaman's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Houlka, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Vardaman has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bruce at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Bruce is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Houlka will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pine Grove at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
