Softball Recap: Clinton-Massie Wins Going Away Against Goshen

Clinton-Massie barely beat Goshen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 8-2 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kalli Jodrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Sydney Doyle was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Penewit, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Clinton-Massie's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton-Massie will face off against Hillsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Goshen, they will be playing at home against Mount Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Goshen's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mount Notre Dame has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
