Basketball Recap: Antonio Kellogg Jr and Jalan Cody Secure Win for Ygnacio Valley

There's no place like home for Ygnacio Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They secured a 53-47 W over the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ygnacio Valley was led to victory by Jalan Cody and Antonio Kellogg Jr. Cody posted 18 points along with eight boards and three steals, while Kellogg Jr earned 16 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Cody a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Machai Alston, who had five points.

Several Ugly Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jett Tran, who scored 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Zion Grissom was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Ygnacio Valley's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-8. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.
