Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lambert Longhorns, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Peachtree Ridge by a score of 20-17. Lambert has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Peachtree Ridge's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darnell Kelly, who threw for 192 yards and a touchdown. Tyeion Cofield did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lambert's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Peachtree Ridge, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Lambert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Peachtree Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Mill Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mill Creek will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
