The Steubenville Big Red pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Liverpool. Even though they lost, Steubenville's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Big Red players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Je'mier Faulks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Faulks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Santino Haney, who scored 15 points.
Steubenville now has a losing record at 1-2. As for East Liverpool, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Steubenville will head out on the road to face off against Brooke at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Brooke's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. East Liverpool will be home for the holidays to greet Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Weir focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
