While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, the Citrus Hill Hawks were not quite the San Jacinto Tigers's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Citrus Hill took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (60), Citrus Hill still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Citrus Hill saw an underclassman step up: Jerren White dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. White hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Roland Thibodeaux, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Stephen Castleberry, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for San Jacinto. Josiah Mejia was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Citrus Hill and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for San Jacinto, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus Hill will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Jacinto, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. Tahquitz is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
