The Bacon County Raiders won the last time they faced the Brooks County Trojans, and things went their way on Friday too. Bacon County walked away with a 57-47 victory over the Trojans.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bacon County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Harris, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Harris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lemarcus Wright, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Brooks County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anton Graham, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Graham has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Kanilyn Jones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Brooks County were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Bacon County's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Brooks County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Bacon County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Pelham is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Brooks County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m.
