This season hasn't been kind to The Bowman Academy Eagles, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 64-6 loss at the hands of South Newton.
Evyn Krug continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Newton, rushing for 247 yards and six touchdowns on only 15 carries. Krug is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Chayse Stillabower made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Bowman Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-8 Benton Central and 2-8 Lake Station Edison (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.3% over those games). As for South Newton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Bowman Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Newton will head out on the road to face off against North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Judson-San Pierre is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
