After flying high against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions on Tuesday, the First Baptist Christian Eagles came back down to earth. First Baptist Christian received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 56-42 to Brighton. First Baptist Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brighton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
Brighton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damon Scott, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Judge Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
First Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Brighton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, First Baptist Christian and Open Door Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Open Door Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. Brighton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
