Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Extends Winning Streak to Five

Humboldt had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Eureka Tornadoes. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Humboldt easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20.

Skylar Hottenstein was nothing short of spectacular: she had 21 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matchups. Bailey Daniels was another key player, getting five assists and three aces.

Humboldt's victory bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Eureka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.

Coincidentally, Humboldt and Eureka will both be playing Cherryvale the next time they take the court. The Tornadoes will host the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cubs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
