4A Piedmont Triad recap Sept. 26, 2012
East Forsyth extended the longest winning streak in 4A Piedmont Triad this week by beating Ragsdale, 35-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Glenn was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bobcats triumphed over Parkland 13-6.
Brandon Walker was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers fell to East Forsyth. Walker racked up six receptions for 83 yards. Erik Romer helped Ragsdale's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Justin Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as High Point Central defeated Thomasville. He finished with 12 completions for 136 yards and one touchdown. Johnson's favorite target this week was Charles Edmond, who caught five passes for 77 yards.
Reid Baxter was the most productive running back in 4A Piedmont Triad this week. He ran for 152 yards on 12 carries as Northwest Guilford lost to Todd Willert's team. Anthony Harding also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
High Point Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bison feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1137 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Jawan Foggie has 34 catches for 457 yards. Johnson also leads the league in rushing with 592 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bison take on the Vikings. High Point Central is in fourth place, while Northwest Guilford is in third place.
Tommy Norwood's team suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 35-7 loss to the Eagles. The Tigers had been ranked 19th, but fell to 30 following the defeat.
