La Habra better keep an eye on Deshonne Redeaux. He was instrumental in Oaks Christian's win, rushing for 264 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Redeaux really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.
Oaks Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Davon Benjamin and Joshua Tyler. Tyler also made 11 total tackles, which is notable because Oaks Christian is 5-2 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-4 otherwise. The Lions got some further help from Alifeleti Tuihalamaka: he picked up a sack, made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
La Habra's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Oaks Christian, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
La Habra was able to grind out a solid victory over Oaks Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2016, winning 35-28. Do the Highlanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
