Valmeyer has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Maryville Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Valmeyer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Valmeyer had to settle for a 40-37 loss against the Warriors.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ava Reeves, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Miller, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Maryville Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Metro-East Lutheran as Maryville Christian made off with a 61-35 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Maryville Christian as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Valmeyer has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Maryville Christian, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-20.
Valmeyer didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Lions when the teams last played last Friday, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. Will Valmeyer repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
