Stewartsville is on a four-game streak of home losses, DeKalb a 12-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Stewartsville Cardinals will take on the DeKalb Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Stewartsville had to suffer through a rough 58-12 loss at the hands of Mound City.
Meanwhile, DeKalb was beaten by West Nodaway 48-12 on Friday. While losing is never fun, DeKalb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while West Nodaway is ranked tenth).
DeKalb's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hayden Black, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Devin Hall who threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Stewartsville to 1-8 and DeKalb to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Stewartsville against DeKalb in their previous meeting back in September as the squad secured a 60-30 win. Will Stewartsville repeat their success, or does DeKalb have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
