The Killian Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Goleman Gators at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Killian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Killian saw some tournament action on Monday. They skirted past Miami Springs 10-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Phoenix Medina made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Johnny Chen See was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Julian Zeledon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Killian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Goleman was able to grind out a solid victory over Coral Gables on Monday, taking the game 9-5.
Goleman also got a great performance from Joseph Slattery as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Misael Batista was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Daikel Nodal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Goleman's record is now 9-5. As for Killian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Killian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Goleman struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Killian couldn't quite finish off Goleman when the teams last played back in March of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
