They breezed by East Davidson on the road to the tune of 71-28. Given Salisbury's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while East Davidson is ranked 314th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Salisbury was led to victory by Jamyrah Cherry and Makayla Noble. Cherry dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Noble dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Cherry 's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Shamya Arnold was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and four steals.
Salisbury's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.2 points. As for East Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salisbury will challenge Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Davidson, they will head out on the road to face off against South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
