The Benedictine Bengals lost against the Revere Minutemen back in January of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Benedictine took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Revere. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Benedictine in their matchups with Revere: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Benedictine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Damone Darmond. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kris Smith, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Benedictine has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Revere, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benedictine will square off against John Hay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Revere will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Highland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 305 points over their last five games.
