Howland fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Falcons on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Falcons 54-50. Howland's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite their loss, Howland saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mia Barrish, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Massucci, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Boardman had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They snuck past Harding with a 47-41 victory.
Howland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Boardman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
