The Hernando Christian Academy Lions have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Real Life Christian Academy with a 23-19 victory on Friday. This was payback for Hernando Christian Academy, who suffered a 40-18 loss the last time these two teams met.
Hernando Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Neaya Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Richardson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hendricks, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Real Life Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Riley Alsene scored seven points.
Hernando Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-6-1. As for Real Life Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Hernando Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Real Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Real Life Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for they, they will be playing at home against Hernando Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m.
