The Sunnyside Blue Devils will face off against the Pueblo Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pueblo took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunnyside, who comes in off a win.
Sunnyside's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Kofa. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Kings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Tatyana Vega made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bianca Cobo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kasandra Alcaraz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Sunnyside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kofa only posted an OBP of .158.
Meanwhile, Pueblo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Desert View.
Sofia Larribas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Anesa Castillo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Sunnyside's win bumped their record up to 13-4-1. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sunnyside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Pueblo struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sunnyside's way against Pueblo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Sunnyside made off with an 11-1 victory. Does Sunnyside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pueblo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
