The Norton Bluejays entered their tilt with the Cambridge Trojans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Norton took down Cambridge 37-23 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Norton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Norton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenessa Ruder, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ruder has scored at least 25% of Norton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Bailey, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Cambridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brylyn Springer, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds, and Mallory Springer who scored six points. Springer scored a full 39.1% of Cambridge's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Norton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Cambridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Norton will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Stockton at 6:00 p.m. Stockton's defense has only allowed 20 points per game this season, so Norton's offense will have their work cut out for Norton. As for Cambridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
