Meanwhile, Highlands entered their tilt with Newport Central Catholic on Wednesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Thoroughbreds with a sharp 18-0 win. 18 seems to be a good number for the Bluebirds as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Julia Luhn looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Alli Meyers was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Zepf, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Highlands pushed their record up to 17-5-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Brossart hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Highlands struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bishop Brossart might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Highlands in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
